Born in Inbe, Baba from a very young age, grew up watching his father, a Bizen ware artist.  Utilizing the characteristics of soil and bringing out its appeal to the fullest, the pieces baked in his kiln are original and powerful.  In recent years, he has expanded his stage overseas to countries like China and Taiwan.

Baba learned a lot from his father.  The most important lesson was “Be true to the soil, be true to the fire”.  Bizen ware shows different expressions depending on the soil and fire.  He believes that there is no other pottery that makes you feel the power of soil.  He continues to pour his heart and soul without compromise into creating bizen ware to leave for future generations as proof of his life.
